Module 16: The Effects of Humans on the Sea

Group2                                    Fishing Tournament held at Saprito Pier

In many places in the world today , marine and fresh water environments are suffering due to careless discard of debris.   In class we participated in a community service  project,   “Stow it – Don’t throw it” founded by Sean Russell a UF Biology major and former Florida 4-H marine science student and intern with Mote Marine Aquarium Dolphin Research program in Sarasota, FL.  We made personalized containers that collects monofilament fishing line that many times would be thrown into the water endangering sea life.
